There have been some absolutely vile parenting moments that viewers have seen take place in episodes of House of the Dragon.

As a parent, your job in life is to make sure your kids grow up to be happy, healthy, functioning members of society.

In House of the Dragon, there have been plenty of moments when parents have utterly dropped the ball with their little ones.

These are the worst parenting moments we’ve seen on House of the Dragon so far.

Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Rhaenyra’s worst parenting moment revolves around the fact that she boldly lied about the paternity of her kids’ father.

She allowed her children to grow up in confusion with rumors circulating around about them at every turn.

Her sons are Jacaerys, Lucerys, and Joffrey.

Their real father is Ser Harwin Strong, even though she pushed the narrative that Laenor Velaryon was their father.

Realistically speaking, if Laenor was really their dad, those boys would have a little more melanin in them!

Daemon Targaryen.

The worst parenting moment from Daemon Targaryen stems from his total lack of interest in his twin daughters.

Daemon’s daughters, Baela and Rhaena, aren’t on his radar in the slightest.

It seems the only two people Daemon has ever shown real love in his lifetime were his brother Viserys and Rhaenyra as his wife.

Imagine growing up as his twin daughters and feeling that level of neglect! Pretty damn heartbreaking.

Alicent Hightower.

Alicent’s worst parenting moment happened when Helaena walked in on her getting piped down by Criston Cole.

Alicent was in the middle of a naked romp with Criston when Helaena entered the room in a state of shock.

Helaena’s baby boy had just been slaughtered and Criston wasn’t standing guard to prevent that from happening.

Just terrible.

Viserys Targaryen.

Viserys’s worst parenting moment came down to his decision to marry his daughter’s childhood best friend.

He didn’t care about Rhaenyra‘s thoughts or opinions on the matter.

He barreled forward with wedding plans, even though Alicent was only a young teenager at the time, and even though he knew it would likely destroy his daughter’s best friendship connection.

All he cared about was the possibility of finally having a son.

Otto Hightower.

Otto Hightower is probably the worst of all when it comes to parents in House of the Dragon who made mistakes regarding their children.

He selfishly encouraged Alicent to pursue Viserys so he could further his own agenda.

He knew that Alicent would be forced to endure sex with a full-grown man and that she’d be forced to endure childbearing at an extremely young age.

He not only allowed it to happen, but he WANTED it to happen. Talk about twisted!
