Tons of fans were supportive of Sabrina Carpenter’s relationship with Barry Keoghan when they were still together, while others claimed that seeing Sabrina and Barry together gave them the ick.

Overall, Sabrina and Barry seemed totally unbothered by the way the public perceived them, but Barry still took time to speak up about the nasty accusations he was receiving.

Barry Keoghan clapped back against trolls

Some people accused Barry of being a deadbeat dad because they didn’t often see him posting pictures and videos with his young son on social media.

Barry was often spotted out and about enjoying date nights with Sabrina. Because of that, people questioned if he was an active and present father to his little one.

He shares his son, Brando, with his ex-girlfriend Alyson Kierans. Barry and Alyson dated from 2021 until mid 2023 before calling it quits.

But just because their relationship failed, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t been a good dad to his kid!

He clapped back against those accusations saying, “I’m not an absent father. People love to use my son as ammunition or whatever, and it kind of leads me to stop [posting him.] The more attention I’ve gotten lately and the more in the public I’ve become, the less I’ve posted about my child, because I don’t think it’s fair to put my child online.”

One thing chronically online individuals need to realize is that celebrities aren’t posting every hour of every day on the internet.

There are likely tons of wholesome and wonderful moments Barry shares with his son that the world will never get a glimpse of.
