Inconveniences, life’s full of them. They can be annoying, messy, and ugly, but they are always there right and left, waiting to bump into you.

And hot damn!

We always flare up, don’t we?

But what if I told you that this moments where life seems like a complete a** can actually be turned into moments of gratitude?

Yes, yes, I know you are wondering how your car breaking down when you are already late for a meeting is supposed to turn into a moment of gratitude instead of livid cursing but hear me out…

On this side of the internet, we value staying on a high vibrational frequency, we value healthy positivity and happiness, and while cursing works for 2 seconds, we still remain feeling like crap.

So, here’s how we can turn the narrative around;

  • Pause and reframe
It’s a bad day, not a bad life, and while I understand that some things are huge inconveniences that can’t be easily shrugged off most are quite small on the larger scale of things.

Pause and try to imagine what lesson or upside might lie in a small inconvenience.

Slow wi-fi? Then, luckily, you have more time to carefully think over and compose that email pitch.

  • You aren’t the main suspect
Sometimes it feels like life is purposely targeting you and shoving multiple inconveniences your way, and believe me, that’s not the case. The universe doesn’t hate you. Just wait and see.
  • Laugh it off
Laughter is medicine. Sometimes the things that happen to us are so ridiculous that you ought to just laugh it off.
  • Gratitude challenge
For every complaint you make, follow it up with something you are grateful for. As a matter of fact, you can create a non-complaint day where you fight any urge to complain.
  • Keep a ‘blessing in disguise journal’
Has something so inconvenient ever happened to you and then you later on came to find out that it saved you from a worse situation?

Keep a journal for these “it was a blessing in disguise situations.”

Believe it or not, once you slowly start to reprogram your mind to seek the good in the not-so-good experiences, life becomes a little brighter.
