Final Round AI released insights about common and popular interview questions to stay aware of.

The first one is, “Tell me about yourself?” When answering this question, you should have a handful of interesting details readily available to share, including your relevant experience and your future goals.

The second question is, “Why do you want to work here?” This question requires that you’ve done a bit of research about the company. Find a couple of things about the company you truly respect and appreciate that you can mention as your answer.

The third question is, “Where do you see yourself in five years?” Your answer to this question should revolve around growing with the company that you’re interviewing with.

The fourth question is, “What are your strengths and weaknesses?” While it might sound like this outdated question is a total cop out, it’s still comes up in interviews pretty frequently. Answer the question with honesty and confidence – and aim to list a weakness that doubles as a strength.

The fifth question is, “Why should we hire you?” This question gives you the opportunity to truly sell yourself and hype yourself up in front of the interviewer. Talk positively about yourself, but refrain from coming across too braggy.

The sixth question is, “Walk me through your résumé.” This isn’t actually a question, but more of a request. Do your best to explain all the positions you’ve had in the past and all the benefits you brought to your old positions. Hold back from talking badly about any of your old jobs or bosses because that’s not a good look!

The seventh question is, “Why do you want this job?” This question is very similar to question number two, so make sure you’ve done an adequate amount of research on the company to answer this question properly.

Michael Guan, CEO of Final Round AI, commented on the study’s findings:

“Interviews can be incredibly stressful, as failure can often mean a return to the job search grind at best and unemployment at worst.

In these high-stakes situations, preparing for the likely questions that will be asked can be a game changer.

“This can be helped further using AI tools, as they can deliver real-time personalized answers in remote situations and help prepare for in-person interviews.

“Companies want enthusiastic and knowledgeable candidates first and foremost.

This shows in the question types that appeared most often, which allow candidates to demonstrate enthusiasm and knowledge about the interviewing organization and how their skill set will benefit the company.”
