A new study has identified Iron Man as the most valuable Marvel superhero, with the character’s combined box office revenue placing him significantly ahead of other heroes in the MCU.

The study, conducted by CSDB.gg, analyzed the number of times that 22 different characters appear across 38 Marvel movies and calculated the combined worldwide box office revenue for their movie appearances.

The study revealed that Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, ranked top, appearing in 12 separate Marvel movies, more than any other character, and has the highest combined box office total of $12.71 billion.

Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., ranked second overall, but was the superhero with the highest earnings, appearing in nine movies with a combined worldwide box office of $12.16 billion.

Black Widow, portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, ranked third, appearing in eight movies, and generating the third-highest box office total of $10.57 billion.

The Hulk, portrayed by both Edward Norton and Mark Ruffalo in the MCU, ranked fourth, appearing in eight movies and producing the third highest box office total of $10.47 billion.

The God of Thunder, Thor, secured fifth place, appearing in 8 movies with a substantial box office total of $10.41 billion.

Captain America ranked sixth, appearing in eight movies with a combined box office total of $10.36 billion.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man placed seventh with a combined box office total of $9.87 billion based on the character’s six appearances in Marvel movies.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts ($9.61 billion), Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange ($9.18 billion), and Don Cheadle’s War Machine complete the remainder of the top 10.
