I just finished watching season 3 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and this is a reality TV show I’ve been obsessed with since season 1.

A lot of things stood out to me in season 3 that I really want to talk about, specifically with cheerleaders Reece, Faith, Kleine, Dayton, Anna Kate, Emily, and Megan.

All the cheerleaders are stunningly gorgeous, beautiful, and talented, but off the top, these storylines really left a lasting impression on me as I was watching the show, so I’ll start with Reece.

Reece

Reece was a veteran cheerleader on DCC in season 3 of the show. I remember watching her try out for the team, and I was rooting for her the entire time because there’s something so sweet, precious, charming, lovable, and adorable about her. She’s just effortlessly likable, which is a rare thing to find in a person. I feel like you have to be really confident and sure of yourself to pull off a role as a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, and that personality type can often be mistaken for conceit and cockiness, but the way Reece has always operated has been super sweet, endearing, and lovely. I have to say I’m pretty sad that she chose to retire from DCC because I genuinely felt like she was a staple on the team. And on top of that, she was the favorite cheerleader of so many young girls. Watching her navigate her injury was devastating for sure, but I feel like she came back stronger, more dedicated, and more focused. I’ve seen a lot of people on social media judging her for her husband, and I have nothing to contribute to that conversation. If she’s happy, I’m happy for her. But I am definitely sad she decided to retire. I just googled her age, and she just turned 25 a couple of weeks ago, so she retired from the team at 24 years old, which is still extremely young. But as she said in season 3, the job is super physically demanding and physically taxing. It takes a toll on a young woman’s body, so I do understand her mindset and wanting to protect her body. But it’s definitely a bummer because she is so vibrant, and she’s a highlight of the show. So I selfishly kind of hope Netflix producers will still incorporate her in season 4 somehow, someway. I feel like they can figure out a way to make it work.

Faith

I also want to talk about Faith, who was a training camp rookie who made it onto the team in season 3. She definitely shook things up with the ponytail, and although people on social media might not have good things to say about her ponytail, I do think it was a smart choice to make since she didn’t want her hair getting stuck to her face with sweat, and whatever. As soon as she put her hair up in a ponytail, it’s like a new side of her with so much more confidence came out, and I was happy to see that new side of her shining through. I honestly didn’t think she was going to make it over because Kelly kept saying, “she’s losing me, she’s losing, “ but I think it’s great. Faith made it because she’s so high vibrational and fun. You can tell she has a really strong circle of people around her who are rooting for her and supporting her, including her friends and her mother. The storyline about her lack of a relationship with her dad definitely tugged at my heartstrings. As a fellow girly with daddy issues, learning that detail about Faith definitely made me resonate with her more. I currently have a super strange relationship with my stepdad, which has put a strain on my relationship with my mother, and that sucks. I have a better relationship with my real dad now in my adulthood, but our relationship was incredibly rocky because he was an absent father to me throughout my teenage years, and we didn’t truly reconnect until I became an adult. The fact that Faith has grown up to be such an impressive and amazing dancer with such positive energy proves that sometimes you’re better off not letting toxic people have access to you, even if those toxic people are your family members. She inspires me a lot, and her willingness to share her vulnerability about her father situation made me feel so much more respect for her.

Kleine

I also need to talk about Kleine, who was a fifth-year veteran for the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders in season 3, and she also happens to be my all-time favorite from the entire team. I love Kleine and think she’s absolutely incredible. She’s truly divine. Her personality and her attitude make her such a vivacious, lovely cheerleader to follow. I definitely followed her on IG. Two celebs Kleine really reminds me of are Sabrina Carpenter and Kendra Wilkinson, back when Kendra was in her prime during her Playboy bunny era. But Kleine stands alone for being a standout dancer and a stand-up young woman with such a vivacious personality. I think watching the way she navigated that super tough conversation with Kelly and Judy at the beginning of the season made me gain a lot of respect for her. Because that conversation was definitely hard. Kelly spoke up about the way she wished she had gone about that conversation differently in the finale episode, by the way, so I think it’s really nice that she reevaluated that interaction a little bit. But what I really loved was Kleine’s response to all of it. She didn’t lose love for her teammates, nor did she lose confidence in herself or her presence on the team after that conversation happened. And as the season progressed, it was really cool seeing the bond Kelly and Kleine actually shared, which definitely gave mother-daughter vibes to me. I’m not gonna lie, but Kelly’s treatment of Kleine throughout the season actually made me start liking Kelly so much more. Where I used to see her as super critical of the girls and a bit cold in her approach with them, I felt like I saw so much more warmth out of Kelly in her treatment of Kleine. And I appreciated that all around.
