Euphoria season 3 ended, and it left much to be desired. I’ve shared a lot of content with my thoughts on Euphoria as the dust has settled, and there are many things I wish had worked out differently.

Like Nate addressing his sexual repression and attraction to Jules. Rue overcoming addiction and proving it’s possible to achieve a thriving lifestyle after facing addiction. And so much more relating to Cassie and Maddy.

Which is why I was 100% intrigued when I heard rumors about a Euphoria spinoff that solely focuses on Cassie and Maddy. I’m here for it.

In June 2026, Sydney Sweeney revealed she’d be open to making a spinoff because she feels like there’s more story left to tell for Cassie. And I agree. According to Collider, Sydney said, “I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied with where Cassie ended up, just because I know there is more to tell of Cassie’s story. But I feel that way about so many of my projects… I don’t think that feeling will ever go away. I’ll always be wondering what Cassie is up to in ‘Euphoria’-verse.”

A Reddit thread popped up about this about four months ago with over 130 comments from Euphoria fans chiming into the conversation. Love or hate Cassie as a character, but she carried season 3 on her back, big time.

The rest of the characters were incredible too, but Cassie’s storyline was insane, in a good way. Like, scenes that were so jaw-dropping, you couldn’t look away. I feel the same way about Maddy’s scenes, which is why this spinoff would be a game-changer. These are 10 storylines I think should be included in a spinoff dedicated to Cassie and Maddy.

Maddy pursues love with Bishop

The first storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be a possible love story between Maddy and Bishop. Season 3 ended with a bit of a hint that something romantic could blossom between them, even though we didn’t get to see what happened next after they left the strip club together. Bishop quite literally saved Maddy’s life, if you can recall. He removed the bullets from Alamo’s gun. He saw Maddy as someone who needed protection, so he quietly went into protection mode over her. They created some sort of connection during the private time they shared in season 3. He knew she was in harm’s way in her interactions with Alamo, so he intervened and ultimately saved the day. When he told Maddy about his pet poodle, he said, “I like to surprise people,” and those words foreshadowed his eventual decision to surprise everyone by betraying Alamo in honor of Maddy. Darrell Britt-Gibson plays Bishop on the show, and when Variety asked him, “Why does Bishop betray Alamo?” he responded, saying, “Bishop didn’t agree with a lot of what Alamo did, but it was a job for him. I think what Alamo did to Rue was the final straw for Bishop. He’s also having that conversation with Maddy in the car. Rue was a bridge too far, and he’s like, ‘I promise I’m not going to let you get to Maddy.’” I found out about a deleted scene from season 3, episode 7 that was originally meant to reveal something massive. Apparently, Bishop dead brother was someone Ali once sponsored in sobriety. However, since that scene was deleted, all we got was that Bishop’s motivations revolved around Maddy. And this is why I feel this storyline would be crucial in a spinoff series.

Cassie vs. an obsessed *OF* stalker

An interesting storyline I’ve dreamt up for a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be Cassie facing off against an obsessed stalker who falls in love with her after subscribing to her OF page. I feel like this storyline would work well in a spinoff, based on how season 3 ended. Cassie ended the show, still very much part of the OF world, running a content house. We witnessed her get addicted to the clout, fame, and attention she got while posting explicit content on OF. So much so that we watched her morph into a giant woman, marching through the streets of Los Angeles because she was gaining fame and notoriety on the platform faster than she could handle. Her level of fame was aggressively blowing up and expanding, and she metaphorically blew up as well… into a giant woman. Cassie was addicted to the attention, and I posted a video about why her addiction to attention was actually worse than Rue’s addiction to drugs, and that’s here on my channel if you’d like to check it out. Anyway, posting content on OF and engaging in flirty conversations with paying customers opens the floodgates to parasocial relationships with lonely men who think the connection they’re paying for with an OF model has more depth and romance than it actually does. Cassie facing off against a crazed and obsessed fan would make a spinoff so interesting to me. It could be the reason she gets scared off the platform entirely.

Maddy gets Tyler out of prison — late-stage justice

A much-needed storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be late-stage justice for Tyler Clarkson. Tyler made the grave mistake of hooking up with Maddy at McKay’s pool party. They hooked up inside the pool, in front of everyone. It was a college party, so Tyler didn’t bother asking Maddy’s age before they started going at it. That decision came back to haunt him. After Nate choked Maddy out at the school carnival, her throat was covered in handprint marks and bruises. Nate ultimately pinned that assault on Tyler, and Maddy went along with the lie. Nate told Tyler if he didn’t take the fall for choking Maddy out, he would go down for something much worse… statutory rape. Since Maddy was only 17 when she hooked up with Tyler. Nate had already severely beaten the life out of Tyler inside Tyler’s own apartment after the pool hookup, so when Nate approached him again about taking the blame for choking Maddy, Tyler succumbed to the threatening pressure and turned himself in to the police. So… Nate’s gone now. Maddy initially lied to protect Nate, but there’s no reason to maintain the lie anymore. In the spinoff, Maddy needs to do the right thing and bring justice to the Tyler situation. That situation always rubbed me the wrong way and never sat right with me.

Lexi gets her moment to outshine Cassie, at least once

A much-needed storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be Lexi getting her moment to finally outshine Cassie… at least once. Through all three seasons of Euphoria, we watched Lexi live her life in Cassie’s shadow. She often felt like the less desirable, less interesting, less visually appealing sister since they were always being compared. Lexi turned to perfectionism and approached life as an overachiever to make up for the fact that she was living in such a dark shadow. She thought trying harder at school, being smarter, and striving for more intellectualism was the only way she could even slightly compete since she knew she’d never be seen as the pretty one between her and Cassie. The crazy thing is that Lexi was also always super pretty. She just didn’t lean into sex appeal or capitalize on her ability to attract male attention. Bottom line: Lexi shed light on her frustration living in Cassie’s shadow with her school play in season 2, but then she sort of disappeared back into that shadow in season 3 when Cassie encroached on Lexi’s space in the Hollywood work scene. Cassie name-dropped Lexi during her audition for LA Nights, and made the entire cast and crew pay attention to her. Lexi got pissed. Lexi also had a crush on Dylan Reed, but Cassie was the one who ultimately hooked up with him. A Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff should include a scene where Lexi truly gets her lick back and outshines Cassie once and for all without a humiliating fallout, like what happened after Cassie stormed the stage of Lexi’s school play. We need to see a scene where Lexi actually just gets to outshine Cassie in a cut-and-dry manner.

Maddy takes over as owner of Alamo’s club

A potentially legendary storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be Maddy taking over as the owner of Alamo‘s strip club, along with the blossoming friendships between Cassie and many of the dancers of the club. Maddy would be the perfect person to take over since she clearly has an entrepreneurial spirit, and she gives the vibe that she can be savvy when it comes to business. She doesn’t work well for a boss, and we clearly saw her get fired in season 3 of Euphoria. What would make her an ideal strip club owner is the fact that she actually has respect for other women. She wouldn’t run things the way Alamo used to run things. She would prioritize the safety and well-being of girls like Kitty and Magick. We saw Cassie posing for content with Kitty and Magick, so the idea of friendships developing between her and the girls doesn’t seem like that far of a stretch. Maddy became somewhat of a madame when she was running Cassie‘s OF business behind the scenes. In Lexi’s words, she thought Maddy was becoming an internet pimp. A career pivot into running a strip club doesn’t seem like something that would spook Maddy. It seems like something she would take all in stride, because she would handle business in a way that actually caters to the safety and well-being of dancers rather than prioritizing the male clientele.

Cassie gets forced to confront her political ignorance

A much-needed storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be Cassie getting forced to confront her political ignorance. She morphed into MAGA Barbie in season 3, and it was sick to see. Like, truly repulsive. But a spinoff would give us the chance to see her be confronted with her ignorance. One, she should acknowledge the way she cashed in on women’s rights and personal bodily autonomy when she terminated an unwanted pregnancy during her failed relationship with McKay. Bashing Democrats doesn’t make much sense when you relied on Democratic policies and freedoms so heavily in season 1. Two, Cassie was supposed to be friends with members of the LGBTQ community. Jules is transgender, and Rue was a lesbian. Cassie needs to acknowledge that maintaining friendships with queer people and being a true safe space for them doesn’t really work as MAGA Barbie. I get that Rue is now dead, but this is still something Cassie should be forced to confront. Three, Cassie was supposed to be friends with people from minority groups. Maddy is Latina, so was Kat, and Rue was Black. Cassie needs to acknowledge that maintaining friendships with people of color and being a true safe space for them doesn’t really work as MAGA Barbie. Seeing her get hit with realizations that reveal how harmful ignorance can be would actually be so refreshing, because Cassie’s political stance makes it so easy to despise her as a character.

Flashback scene of the Rue funeral that we missed

An emotion-driven storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be Rue’s funeral scene, which was completely omitted from season 3, despite the fact that Rue was the main character of the show. It would obviously have to happen in a flashback scene of some sort, like Maddy or Cassie reflecting on the day of Rue’s funeral to give us a better understanding of what that day was like. Rue’s mother and sister should be included, of course, and obviously Ali as well. Rue’s death scene broke a lot of people’s hearts, even though I think a lot of us saw it coming. We kind of knew she would be dying before the end of season 3 based on the way Zendaya kept dropping hints that she was ready to move on with her life beyond Euphoria. There were multiple instances that could’ve been the end of her, from swallowing balloon balls of drugs to getting buried alive. But ultimately, she died of an unintentional fentanyl OD due to laced pills from Alamo. It hurt the most because she had already reached a turning point in her sobriety journey. She was seeking religious guidance and trying to redeem herself for past mistakes. But then she died. It felt so unfair, but the lack of a funeral was even more unfair. The same way everyone gathered for Cassie and Nate’s wedding a few episodes prior, everyone should’ve gathered for Rue’s funeral as well. A flashback scene to honor what that event was like would fit in well in a Euphoria spinoff, especially for Maddy, who was much closer to Rue than Cassie was.

Cassie confronts her past flings

A hilarious storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be Cassie confronting her past flings to have heart-to-heart conversations about where things went wrong. I picture Cassie sitting down with her exes, asking for brutal honesty in her attempt to move forward in life and find love with the right guy after becoming a young widow. I picture this being more of a comedic addition to the show, similar to the time Michael Scott visited his ex-girlfriends one by one on The Office to talk about his cold sore. For Cassie, the perpetual pick-me girl who craves male validation always, I envision her sitting down with her exes to find out why things fizzled or failed. She’d have the longest chat with McKay, but she’d also talk to Danny DiMarco, Brandon Fontaine, and Dylan Reid. I think an episode like this would be so golden in Cassie’s journey to finding true love with the right guy. I also don’t know if the spinoff should include Cassie actually settling down in a relationship with any guy. This little sidequest could help build evidence for her of how important it is to learn herself, put herself first, and embody self-love for the first time rather than continual pick-me girl behavior for the rest of her life.

Reconnections with Jules, Fezco, and Kat

A highly necessary storyline I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be their reconciliations with Jules, Fezco, and Kat. I already mentioned that Lexi should have her moment to finally outshine Cassie, and there should be a scene that includes a flashback of Rue’s funeral at the very least. But Jules, Fezco, and Kat should also be included in the spinoff to some degree. Jules ended Euphoria season 3 in the most disappointing way ever. She ruined her opportunity as an artist on set at Lexi’s show. She hit Rue in the face before Rue died. She dropped out of art school. She stayed in a toxic relationship with a rich sugar daddy who cares about his wife more than her. We need some resolution to Jules’s storyline. I think we deserve that. We could get it if it were written into a Cassie/Maddy spinoff. Fezco is still in prison in the Euphoria universe, mostly because Angus Cloud sadly died in real life. It wouldn’t be possible to show him on-screen unless there’s old footage of Angus Cloud as Fezco that can be used, but mention of his early release, or his rekindled love story with Lexi, or anything special about his character would fit in well in a spinoff. Kat wasn’t even mentioned in season 3 of Euphoria, if I’m not mistaken, because Barbie Ferreira chose to leave the show after season 2. I feel like there’s a way she could be written into the spinoff since Kat’s presence was missed in season 3.

Cassie makes a move on Maddy — Jealousy morphs into attraction

A highly controversial plot twist I’d like to see in a Cassie/Maddy Euphoria spinoff would be Cassie making a move on Maddy at some point, giving us tangible evidence that her jealousy towards Maddy, her desire to steal Maddy’s man, wear Maddy’s clothes, and jock Maddy’s aura was really just repressed underlying romantic feelings for Maddy all along. I feel like this could be the plot twist of all plot twists. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. Cassie went out of her way to imitate Maddy to the point of trying to slide into Maddy’s entire life. Obsessive feelings like that are liable to slip into uncharted territory for some people. Obsession can morph into attraction. I can realistically see Cassie developing romantic feelings for Maddy after seeing Maddy as somewhat of her savior too. Maddy did save Cassie’s life from mobsters in season 3, as a reminder. Maddy was the one who trauma-bonded with her when Nate’s body was discovered. Maddy was the one Cassie turned to for comfort in that breakfast diner the following morning. I can see Cassie developing feelings for Maddy that go a step beyond friendship. Cassie, who’s already known to get overly attached to people in a clingy way, is totally capable of developing something more for Maddy. At least in my opinion. I’m not saying Maddy would reciprocate, but I’m saying this plot twist could be gold.

I think a Cassie/Maddy spinoff would be so interesting to watch, with even just one or two of my ideas on this list. But even with zero of my ideas, I’d still be so excited to watch a Cassie/Maddy spinoff.
