It’s been revealed that Joe Alwyn is still earning money off song credits from his time writing lyrics with Taylor Swift.

The former couple dated for six years, but fortunately, they called it quits in 2023.

According to Us Weekly, Joe’s already earned $2.3 million from Spotify streams alone.

They also noted that Taylor‘s Eras tour pulled in $1 billion. Since Joe contributed to some of the song lyrics there, he’s earning a percentage of that billion.

Swifties are divided over this revelation

Some Swifties don’t have any bad blood for Joe since they think of him as the man who made Taylor happy for six years of her life.

Others totally hate the guy because they feel like he wasted her late 20s and early 30s.

The argument is that over the years, Taylor has been abundantly clear about her desire to become a wife someday. Songs like “Love Story” and “Lover” say it all!

Instead of progressing beyond boyfriend/girlfriend status, Joe never proposed to Taylor and always acted coy whenever interviewers would ask about her.

To make matters worse, he always looked miserable whenever he was spotted in the audience at her shows.

It’s a stark contrast to her relationship with Travis Kelce. These days, Travis always blissfully cheers her on and shows support whenever she takes the stage.

At the end of the day, the fact that Joe gets to pocket a percentage of money from Taylor is rubbing plenty of Swifties the wrong way.

By that same token, some of Taylor’s fans don’t see this as a major problem since they’re convinced the split was amicable.

The Tortured Poets Department album, Taylor’s releasing soon will reveal some of the nitty-gritty details about the failed six-year romance.

Swifties will have to wait to hear it first before coming to final conclusions.
