Rumor has it, Disney is interested in casting Dua Lipa for the role of Megara in the live-action adaptation of Hercules.
For the longest time, people were convinced that Ariana Grande would be perfect for the role.

Although Dua rose to fame as a pop singer, she’s also shown a serious interest in acting.
Earlier this year in February, she starred in the movie Argylle with Henry Cavill and John Cena.
The movie was a box office flop, but it proved that she knows how to memorize lines and help bring a screenplay to life.
She also played Mermaid Barbie in 2023‘s Barbie movie with Margot Robbie.
Ariana makes a lot of sense as a singer with a proven track record as an actress as well.
Shows like Victorious and Sam & Cat from Nickelodeon don’t shed a lot of light on Ariana’s true talent as an actress, but her upcoming role in Wicked at the end of the year most certainly will.
Whether Disney casts Dua or Ariana, the final results will be incredible.
The animated version of Hercules premiered in 1997 from telling the story of classical mythology.
Seeing the story come to life in live-action form is an exciting update for Disney lovers who’ve been watching live-action versions of their favorite fantastical stories for the last few years.
Hercules definitely isn’t the first Disney live-action movie to come about, by the way.
