Watching Sabrina Carpenter‘s rise to fame has been intriguing and incredible over the last few years.
Which famous and talented individuals inspired and influenced Sabrina along the way, though?
We found 12 legendary icons that Sabrina has mentioned with love, respect, and admiration.
Taylor Swift.
Before Sabrina was invited to be a special guest on Taylor Swift‘s Eras tour, Sabrina was already manifesting her current reality more than a decade ago.
In 2010, Sabrina tweeted, “The Taylor Swift concert was amazing, had so much fun I cant wait to have a world tour someday like hers! lol with 2 sold out shows!!!!!”
She’s also been quoted speaking highly of Taylor on many occasions, and it’s obvious Taylor is an icon who inspired and influenced Sabrina.
Miley Cyrus.
Sabrina also gained inspiration and influence from Miley Cyrus during her rise to fame. She said, “I mean that’s my childhood poster girl, I love Miley.”
There are rumors about a possible song collaboration between Miley and Sabrina making their rounds at the moment as well.
Madonna.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Sabrina cited Madonna as someone legendary in the pop music world.
Fast forward to 2024 and Sabrina was photographed wearing the same Michael Kors dress Madonna once wore more than three decades ago.
Britney Spears.
In that same Rolling Stone interview, Sabrina also mentioned Britney Spears. Britney was labeled the princess of pop in the early 2000s!
Many fans have pointed out the similarities in Sabrina’s music video for “Fast Times” compared to Britney’s music video for “Toxic.”
Mariah Carey.
The third music legend Sabrina mentioned in that Rolling Stone interview was none other than Mariah Carey.
Plus, Sabrina is on record saying “GTFO” by Mariah is probably her favorite song ever by any artist.
Christina Aguilera.
Sabrina cited Christina Aguilera as a musician who’s inspired her to Equinox. Years before that, Sabrina was already gushing over Christina as a little kid also.
She spoke highly of Christina and talked about hoping her voice would mature to the same degree someday.
Separately, Sabrina also shared her love for Christina’s song “Beautiful.”
Rihanna.
She also gushed about Rihanna saying, “It’s very effortless for her, That’s exactly what artistry should be. It should just be you. It should just exude everything that you are and I feel like she’s a very good example of that.”
When Rihanna was about to perform at the Super Bowl, Sabrina shared her excitement about seeing the show.
Lorde.
Sabrina spoke about Lorde saying, “Lorde is an incredible lyricist. She is someone that I always look up to and also, musically, she is such her own thing, she is in her own lane.”
SZA.
Sabrina cited SZA as a woman who inspires her when speaking with Equinox. With songs from SZA like “I Hate U” and “Love Galore,” this makes all the sense in the world.
Sza’s songs are very vulnerable, and so are a lot of Sabrina’s.
Amy Winehouse.
Sabrina listed Amy Winehouse as a musician who brought her inspiration and even covered Amy’s “Back to Black” on an IG live stream in 2020.
Adele.
Sabrina spoke about Adele as another singer who inspired her when interviewing with Equinox.
Sabrina’s dreams must have come true after learning that Adele was a huge fan of Sabrina’s song “Espresso.”
Adele called the song her jam and Sabrina playfully wrote, “all i read was Adele thinks about me in bed <3.”
Etta James.
Sabrina told Equinox, “One of the first songs I ever learned was ‘At Last’ by Etta James and she as an artist has inspired me so much.”
Etta recorded and released music throughout the 60s, yet it’s obvious that young stars like Sabrina still listen to her songs today.
