As the “Mother of Dragons” on Game of Thrones, Emilia Clarke became one of the biggest TV actors of this era.

She rose to fame for her role as Daenerys Targaryen. Her character development from the beginning to the end of the show was definitely shocking.

She went on to star in several other movies over the years. Interestingly enough, another actress named Zoey Deutch snagged a role in Emilia’s place. These are the details.

After filming Game of Thrones from 2010 to 2019, Emilia was well sought after. She was offered several other major roles, some of which she took and others she rejected.

She starred in the Broadway play Breakfast at Tiffany’s in 2013, Me Before You in 2016, A Star Wars Story in 2018, Last Christmas in 2019, and more.

In 2016, it was announced that Emilia had joined the Set It Up cast and was set to play an overworked assistant named Harper Moore.

However, the casting process took longer than expected – and she was still filming Game of Thrones.

Emilia was forced to back out due to filming conflicts between the two projects. This is where the talented Zoey steps in.

She was cast for the part and went on to replace Emilia. Zoey previously worked on films like Everybody Wants Some!! and Before I Fall, where she demonstrated her acting skills. So yes, she was quite suitable for the casting.

It is safe to say that Daenerys Targaryen is currently Emilia’s most popular role; however, we hope to see her in more projects, even though Set it Up didn’t work out.
