Are there two bigger power houses in the music industry aside from Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift?

Ariana and Taylor are both so talented, even though their music is extremely different.

Have you ever been curious to know if these beautiful and talented singers are friends in real life?

And will they ever possibly collaborate on a song together? Here’s what you should know.

Ariana and Taylor used to be closer as friends than they currently are.

Back in the 2010s, Taylor and Ariana definitely had a friendship with each other. Since then, it appears they’ve drifted apart because they don’t seem to be as close as they were.

In 2014, Ariana and Taylor hit the stage for the Victoria’s Secret fashion show to perform together. It was absolutely incredible.

Seeing the two of them handle such an amazing show each other side by side was fabulous for their fans.

At the time, Taylor posted a pic of herself with Ariana with a caption saying that Ariana “couldn’t be cuter.”

Since then, the post has been deleted.

Taylor cleaned out her Instagram profile during her Reputation album era, so the pic likely went away at that time.

In 2015, Ariana posted a tweet about her dreams of living in a world where she’d be valued for her individual qualities rather than who she was dating or potentially going to marry.

Taylor responded to that with a tweet that said, “I’m so proud of you, always, but especially today.”

Since then, those tweets have also been deleted also!

That year, Ariana was photographed spending time with Taylor at her new New York City apartment, proving that they definitely loved being in each other’s presence during that timeframe.

The following year in 2016, it was reported that they were seen hugging each other backstage at the Grammy Awards.

Later on in 2016, Ariana spoke with UK’s Capital FM about her interest in joining Taylor‘s girl squad.

Ariana playfully said, “Do you have to do anything weird to get in? All those girls are so nice. I would just be so down.”

After Ariana dealt with the tragic Manchester bombing at one of her 2017 shows, Taylor sent a tweet of support to let everyone know she was there for her.

Taylor tweeted, “My thoughts, prayers, and tears for all those affected by the Manchester tragedy tonight. I’m sending all my love.”

But by 2018, it seemed that whatever close-knit friendship Ariana and Taylor had was starting to dwindle.

Some believe that the rift between Katy Perry and Taylor is the reason Ariana and Taylor stopped being so close.

Ariana was on good terms with Katy at the time, which means Taylor might’ve felt like Ariana was taking Katy’s side.

Fortunately, as of now, Taylor and Katy are on good terms again. In fact, Katy even appeared in Taylor‘s music video for “You Need to Calm Down.”

So, if there’s no more feud between Katy and Taylor, does that mean Taylor and Ariana can start being close again too?

They certainly can, but that doesn’t mean jumping in line to make that happen since they haven’t been photographed with each other in years.

As far as a possible collaboration between Ariana and Taylor, they haven’t spoken up about making that happen either.

About five years ago, Taylor liked a Facebook post that hinted at a possible collaboration with Ariana, but nothing stemmed from that.

In 2024, Ariana hinted at a collab with Taylor by adding a heart with a letter T inside it in the music video for “The Boy is Mine.”

Ariana also added a shining sign that said the word “Lover” in that music video.

Some fans are convinced these were Easter eggs hinting at an upcoming collaboration between Taylor and Ariana.
