CEO of QR Code Generator had this to say about the findings:

“While it originally started as a joke in the TV series Parks and Recreation, Galentine’s Day deeply resonates with many women across the country, as they are tired of the expectations placed upon them surrounding relationships.

“This is especially so as Valentine’s Day approaches.

“Galentine’s Day is a chance for women to reject this societal pressure and embrace freedom they might not have felt they deserved before discovering the holiday.

“Companies have capitalized on this trend too, with many now offering dedicated Galentine’s products and packages alongside classic Valentine’s Day wares.

“What is particularly fascinating is there is a correlation between population density and the number of Galentine’s Day searches per 100,000 residents.

“This could be due to more urbanized states having more Galentine’s offerings or women in those states being more jaded with Valentine’s.

“This would be an interesting avenue of research.”
