Selena Gomez has faced her fair share of haters and trolls on the internet and in the real world.

She always stands up for herself, though.

Selena doesn’t allow people to talk smack without getting a defensive response from her!

Here’s your reminder of a scenario where she stood up for herself – big time.

Selena clapped back against conservative politician Sam Parker who called for her deportation.

Selena got super vulnerable on Instagram when she posted a story of herself crying about the heart-wrenching mass deportations happening to the Latino community.

She was heartbroken over everything happening politically in America right now, same as most democratic voters.

When Sam responded by suggesting Selena get deported, it was one of the most blatantly racist and insensitive things he could’ve said.

That’s because he couldn’t take two seconds to step out of his prejudiced thinking to Google search where Selena was born.

She was born on US soil in Texas. There’s no place for Selena to be deported away to since she is an American citizen.

The sadness she feels over what’s happening in the Latino community isn’t something that’s directly impacting her since she personally won’t be deported, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t still have empathy for the pain and suffering happening in her culture and community right now.

After Sam said what he said, Selena clapped back by saying, “Oh Mr. Parker, Mr. Parker. Thanks for the laugh and the threat.”

It was her way of showing him she didn’t take his words seriously in the slightest.
