August is one of those months that just feels full of potential — like the golden hour of summer.
The heat starts to mellow out, the sunsets hit different, and the vibes are unmatched.
So I’m choosing to romanticize August 2025 — not just for the aesthetics, but for the little moments of joy scattered throughout the month.
There are so many random holidays that give you the perfect excuse to live intentionally and celebrate your soft, beautiful, everyday life.
Here’s how I’m planning to lean into the energy of August…
August 1 – National Girlfriends Day
While I personally won’t be celebrating this one (I’m a wife now), I love this holiday because it’s a reminder that girlfriends deserve just as much love and celebration as anyone else.
If you’re dating someone, let this be the day you get your flowers — literally and metaphorically. You deserve softness, affection, and recognition just for being you.
August 2 – National Coloring Book Day
This one is special to me because I’ve created viral faceless ASMR coloring content on both TikTok and YouTube.
I’ll definitely be leaning into it again. There’s something so calming about coloring — it’s nostalgic, meditative, and perfect for winding down. Expect cozy content and soothing sounds.
August 3 – National Watermelon Day

This is basically my Super Bowl. I’m obsessed with watermelon. I always have it in the house — it’s hydrating, refreshing, and spiritually uplifting (if you know, you know).
I’ll be celebrating with fresh slices, maybe a watermelon mocktail, and probably a juicy watermelon-themed reel or two.
August 4 – Triple holiday alert
It’s National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, National Sisters Day, and Barack Obama Day. Three things I genuinely love.
Cookies? Always.
Sisterhood? So powerful.
Obama? Iconic.
You might catch me baking, calling my sister, and posting a throwback to one of my favorite Obama speeches — all in one day.
August 9 – National Book Lovers Day + National Bowling Day
I’m rereading The Four Agreements because I didn’t give it my full attention the first time around.
This book deserves a mindful read — it’s a game-changer. I’m also thinking about going bowling with my husband.
We live in Vegas, and our local casinos have bowling alleys where games are like five bucks a round. It’s giving fun date night on a budget.
August 10 – National Lazy Day
This falls on a Saturday, which honestly feels like divine timing.
I plan to stay in bed, doomscroll, drink iced coffee, and not feel bad about it. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is rest.
August 12 – Middle Child Day
Finally, a day that celebrates me. Middle children are often overlooked, ignored, or forgotten — so I love that there’s a holiday that acknowledges our unique place in the family dynamic.
I’ll probably be romanticizing my role as the peacemaker, the observer, the quietly wise one. We matter.
August 16 – National Rum Day

This one hits close to home — literally. I have Caribbean roots from the island of Barbados, and rum originated there.
So yes, I’ll be celebrating this one proudly. I might make a rum-based cocktail, play some soca, and honor the ancestral vibe of celebration and resilience.
August 26 – National Dog Day
Since I’m childfree by choice, the closest I’ll ever come to having a kid is the dog I plan to adopt in the future. I already love them in advance.
For now, I’ll celebrate my mom’s dog — and all the adorable fur babies that bring us so much joy, loyalty, and unconditional love.
August doesn’t need to be jam-packed with plans to feel meaningful.
Sometimes it’s just about choosing to honor what you love — whether it’s a juicy fruit, a quiet book moment, a lazy Saturday, or a bowl of watermelon in bed.
Let’s romanticize August together, one random holiday at a time.
