Most folks are looking for any reason to smile and feel some sort of joy during a time of chaos and uncertainty.

Well, thankfully, October 8th is home to American Touch Tag Day. That’s right, a game from our childhood finally has a day of its own.

Over the past few years, Millennials have been resorting to different childhood activities to feel a sense of warmth and peace.

Here’s how you can celebrate one of our favorite pastimes.

The most obvious way to celebrate American Touch Tag day is by gathering a group of friends, heading to an open space, and joyfully running around while playing tag.

Thankfully, the weather in most parts of the country is still ideal enough to spend time in the great outdoors.

Honestly, the best part about playing tag with a group of friends might not even be the tag part.

Odds are, you and your group will want to bring snacks, music, and drinks to splurge on while you hangout after your session of tag comes to an end.

Oftentimes, holidays are made special because of who you spend time with, not the exact activity you partake in.

Running around also releases hormones that boost your mood. Think about it, were you ever sad or depressed after playing tag as a child?

Probably not. Instead, you were filled with joy, looking forward to the next time you lace up your shoes.

Today isn’t the only day you can play tag, but it is the only day you can play tag on a holiday that celebrates the sport.

So get out there, get some friends, and run around for a while.
